Using the lens of educational psychology, I reflected, illustrated, and applied some of my learnings about child development and the psychology of how people learn, by analyzing one of my own lesson plans (created for practicum.) The purpose of this assignment was to analyze (identify, connect & define, apply, and extend my thinking) a completed lesson plan.
In this assignment, I reflected on a number of concepts, tools, and strategies I had included in my lesson plan. I learned that education and becoming a teacher involves constantly going back, revising, changing, and updating the material you intend to teach. Not every student is the same, just as every class is not the same. There is strength in being able to go back and adapt lesson plans in order to become a more adaptable and flexible instructor.
